Try the search feature. National Tradesman has a glossary of terms and definitions used in the construction trades with more being added daily. Trade terms can be single words, several words, or sentences. Each term and definition will generally follow these guidelines:
- The term has to relate to the construction trades in a way that a trades worker, engineer, or other professional in that field will readily recognize as relevant.
- The definition may or may not contain the accepted/adopted codes from construction trades but it will most likely give a code definition if one exists.
- The definition will be displayed in the following order of priority:
- Code definitions if relevant to the term. This may contain multiple code definitions from the accepted sources of different trades. This will enable the trade worker, apprentice-in-training, or student, to make comparisons and be informed of similarities or differences among the building trades.
- The National Tradesman definition given in best effort from the collective research and knowledge of the website staff.
- An informal opinion given by the National Tradesman staff in plain language or as we like to say, coffee-break style.
