Superheat – Refrigeration

HVAC/R Fundamentals…

Superheat (Refrigeration)

Superheat is a measured temperature difference within a refrigeration circuit. It is the measured difference between the actual temperature of the refrigerant vapor and the saturation temperature of the refrigerant at the same point.

Superheat, calculated on the refrigeration system’s low side, is most often measured as evaporator superheat, but can also be measured as total (compressor) superheat.
